Slainte
Slàinte
Grab a pint and raise a glass to "Slainte," the beer-loving masterpiece that’s crafted from an Irish mixed media collage! It's the perfect blend of whimsy and spirit—like a pint of laughter in your living room (minus the froth). Hang it up and let the good times roll—cheers to art that’s a real party animal!
A one-of-a-kind mixed‑media collage created on a foundation of found papers and cardboard, assembled and rendered by hand using paint, markers, and ink. Inspired by the spirit of celebration and personal narrative, Slàinte infuses rough‑hewn materials with expressive mark‑making and layered meaning.
This work transforms discarded paper and cardboard into a dynamic visual composition—bridging tactile texture, color, and gesture. The varied surfaces, edges, and printed fragments of the source materials become integral to the piece, carrying remnants of their previous life into a new context.
This piece explores themes of community, memory, and transformation—where ordinary materials are reimagined as conduits for expression. Slàinte, a toast of goodwill and shared moments, serves as both a title and an invitation to consider what we carry forward and why.
Hand‑assembled and hand‑drawn, the collage elements interact with paint, markers, and ink, creating depth, energy, and contrast across the surface. The intentional layering and visible imperfections of the materials enhance the work’s tactile presence—making it uniquely untamed and emotionally resonant.
